Bonjour finds the computer, a 6-digit code pairs it.
The watch reads its motion sensor 100 times a second. A One Euro filter takes the tremor out and a dead zone holds it still — the cursor goes where you point, not where your hand drifts.

Desktop switching uses the same command as the wrist flick.
Type “onceki” and “Önceki” comes up. Nobody should hunt for letters on a phone keyboard.
With no connection the shortcuts do not fire — and say so plainly.
Every shortcut rides existing protocol messages, so there is nothing to update.
The app finds computers on your network over Bonjour and lists them by name. Pick one, type the code on its screen — you are never asked again.
No IP addresses; agents on the network arrive by name.
A 6-digit code appears on the computer. Valid 2 minutes, cancelled after 5 wrong tries.
A 32-byte key goes into the Keychain; the agent keeps only its SHA-256 digest.
Its fingerprint is recorded at first pairing. If it changes, the connection is refused.

Cursor and click messages from an unauthorised connection are never processed.
A machine presenting a different certificate is refused, and you are told.

Yes. The watch and phone produce the input; the agent on the computer applies it to the system. The agent is free and runs quietly in the background.
Double Tap needs watchOS 11 and a Series 9 / Ultra 2 or later. On older watches the on-screen Click button does the same job.
No. No sign-up, no login. The pairing code and the token stored on your device are enough.
Yes. The watch and the computer talk directly over the same Wi-Fi. There is no intermediary server, cloud relay or account backend.
watchOS suspends the app; that is a deliberate limit. For long sessions, set Display → Wake Duration to 70 seconds on the watch.
Both things: it is how the watch app reaches the App Store, and on its own it is a full trackpad, keyboard and shortcut panel.
